01 Door Anchor & Resistance Band | Setting Up for Fixing Forward
Instructions
Before beginning the resistance-band exercises in Fixing Forward, learn how to properly set up your door anchor and band.
Thread your resistance band through the loop of the door anchor.
Position the ball end of the anchor on the opposite side of the door.
Whenever possible, set up the anchor so you are pulling in the direction that keeps the door shut rather than pulling the door open.
If you need to pull in the direction the door opens, position the anchor close to the hinge side so it remains secure.
Do not position the anchor in a way that allows the resistance of the band to pull the door open.
To double up a resistance band with handles and create one solid handle:
- 1. Pass one handle through the other handle.
- 2. Take the remaining handle and pass it back through the handle that just went through.
- 3. Pull the band into position until you have one solid handle.
Make sure your door anchor and band are secure before beginning your exercises.
Learning Focus:
- 1. Learn how to safely position a door anchor for resistance-band exercises
- 2. Understand how the direction of resistance affects the security of the door
- 3. Learn how to double a resistance band to create one handle
